This mural was created about 25 years ago as a gift to Mattoon Junior Baseball. Its to honor the memory of Bud Karpus and Holly Shriver. They are two of the main complex founders.

This mural is not only painted but also carved. The details are amazing. Right down to the "R" on the ball gloves for Rawlings. Take a close look. The details are terrific. The mural was created by Mattoon resident Don Upton.

We are restoring the mural now. Years and sun and weather haven't been real kind to this piece of art that is displayed on the front of the complex building. Another local couple, Connie & Justin Grady, have offered to restore Don's artwork back to its original. Soon it will be re-installed. Take a minute to check this out. You will be amazed by the detail.
